Ocean State Chapter 2025 Board Nominations

With 2024 wrapping up, it’s time to get ready for our 2025 ryding season. It is also time to nominate officers (President, Vice President, Treasurer and Seretary) for the coming year. In the link below you will find the elected positions that are open along with a brief description of the primary responsibilities of these positions.

Please make sure that the person you are nominating is willing to hold office. The nominee must also be present at our February 13th chapter meeting prior to our chit chat. In addition, the person you are nominating is willing to meet the following obligations along with their elected duties.

Be present for at least six group ryding events during the year.
Put together two group rydes or events within the year of office
Attend a minimum of three Board Meetings along with 3 monthly chit chat events.

Officers may perform more than one function, however, will be seen as only one voting member on the Board.

Nominations must be submitted by end of day Friday, January 31st, 2025. Based on your nominations, those individuals will then be placed on the ballot and voted on at the beginning of our Chapter meeting on February 13th. Note that nominations will be reviewed prior to the meeting to ensure those submitted are members in good standings with the club. Members may only be elected into office if they are in good standing with the club and present for the February 13th Chapter meeting unless unable to attend due to a medical or family issue. The issue must be submitted to the Club President (Robert Zanni) at least 5-days prior to the holiday party and must also be read to the membership that is present prior to a vote for the position for said position the member is running for.

Once a Board of Directors has been elected they will then look to appoint individuals to the positions such as, Road Captain(s), Webmaster(s), Safety Coordinator(s), and others as needed. It is the collective of all positions that will comprise the Board.

Chapter President

This role is responsible for the leadership of the Chapter. The role responsibilities include chapter direction, leading out meetings, fostering relationships with BRP & Road Warriors Foundation, membership, nominations / appointment of Road Captains, Event Coordinator, and other positions such as Club Photographer and Safety guru. This position would work with both Board Members and Club membership to ensure the health of the club.

Vice President

This role is responsible for helping with the development efforts related to growing our chapter. Works to foster and grow membership base and involvement. Helps with all special functions and leads out during membership meetings when the President is unavailable. The position would help with recommendations to fill appointed positions such as of Road Captains, Event Coordinator, and other positions such as Club Photographer and Chaplain. This position would also work with both Board Members and Club membership to ensure the health of the club.

Treasurer

This role is responsible for the club treasury. As the Treasurer, this role will track all funds (both income and expenses) for all events and will report out to the Board on transactions associated with the club’s treasury. The role will also take on the responsibility of membership administration. Membership administration will include the tracking and recording of all required documentation (Ryde Waivers, Bylaws, Membership Roster) along with the printing of membership cards. This role will work closely with the Chapter President on any issue related to membership administration. The position would help with recommendations to fill appointed positions such as of Road Captains, Event Coordinator, and other positions such as Club Photographer and Chaplain. This position would also work with Board Members to ensure the health of the club.

Secretary

This role is responsible for setting up quarterly club meetings, meeting agendas and minutes/notes (both Board and Member meetings). This position is also responsible for helping with correspondent documents (both revisions and creation). Would help with recommendation to fill appointed positions such as of Road Captains, Web Master, Safety Guru, just to name a few. This position would also work with both Board Members and Club members to ensure the health of the club.
