This year we have added another event to Spyders in the Ozarks. We now have the Spring Fling and the Fun Fall! rally. These dates were decided based on the trusty Farmers Almanac. And I quote- "April and May will be warmer and slightly drier than normal. September and October will bring above-normal temperatures and below-normal rainfall." So it looks like it going to be a great year for riding and fellowship.

For over 15 years, Carmel Fire Department has sponsored this ride to the Hoosier Burn Camp. Hoosier Burn camp offers a challenging, unforgettable summer camp experience for young men and women who have experienced injuries from burns - at no cost to families. The ability to provide such an experience is done solely through donations.

Jeff and Christy will host a Meet-n-Greet on Wednesday, March 25 at BoomBozz Craft Pizza and Taphouse. It's in Fishers on 116th St. less than a mile east of the I69 intersection. (Last month we did a northwest location, so this is a northeast location. Working our way around the city!!)

Jeff will be the Ride Captain for the first 2020 Chapter Monthly Ride on Saturday, March 21, 2020. We will capture 4 points on the 2020 Scavenger Hunt!! We will meet in Greenfield at 10:00 on the east side of the Hancock County Courthouse (1 point) at the corner of US 40 and Rt. 9. We will ride to Rushville for a stop at the Rush County Courthouse (1 pt). Just outside of town is Wendell Wilkie's grave (1 pt). (He ran against FDR for president in 1940.) Then to Troyers Amish Countrystore on Rt. 3 (a fun little stop so Christy and I can buy some provisions - 0 pt). Then to the Shelby County Courthouse (1 pt). Final stop will be Cracker Barrel at the junction of I74 and Rt. 9.

Dreyer is holding a Special Event to introduce the new 2020 Spyder RT’s to owners of Spyders and Rykers. She will be sending invites to Dreyer customers who may not be Chapter members that have bought or expressed interest in Spyders and Rykers
This is a fun event. A chance to sit on the roadsters, talk about its features, etc… You can show up anytime between 6 and 7:30. There are no formal presentations. The unveiling itself will occur shortly after 6:00.

(General location: far southeast side of Indy near Greenwood. For those that attended last year’s Spring meeting, it’s the same place thanks to Dave B.)
Coffee, water and donuts provided.
Meeting starts at 10 with the first half hour as a designated social time to catch up with friends. Formal meeting starts at 10:30. For those interested, afterwards go to a nearby restaurant for lunch.
Major items on agenda: election of board and officers, 2020 Scavenger Hunt, discuss Chapter rides and meet-n-greets, etc...
Let’s hope the weather cooperates!!
- Of course, the meeting will be “weather permitting”. For those that remember the last annual meeting, we had to cancel twice before getting the weather to cooperate.
- There are open positions for Officers and Board Members. Please consider this opportunity to help make the Chapter continue to evolve and best serve the membership. We always need “fresh blood and ideas”. We will be voting on these positions at the February 1st meeting.
- Don’t forget to pay your 2020 dues. $20 for current members, and $30 for new members.
- Repeat members must once again complete the Acceptance and Liability Waiver - Member forms for the new year.
- These forms are found at the US Spyder Ryders / Brickyard Chapter website. Scroll down to the Forms icon.
- Make the check for dues payable to Jeff Boruvka as noted on the Acceptance form.
Yes, there is a Polar Bear Ryde on January 1st. A number of members wanted to switch up from the 465 route. So here is what we are doing:

Drive your Spyder to Shapiro’s Deli in downtown Indy. Meet at 12:30 pm for a hardy lunch.
then we will Spyder as a group to Monument Circle for a group photo with our Spyders.
to qualify for the Polar Bear patch, you need to be in the Group photo with your bike.
for those less hardy souls, join us for lunch for good food and laughs by driving your cage.
cage drivers will not be eligible for the patch.
if a decent day, we may form an adhoc short ride from the Circle.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for a reasonable weather day on 1/1. I am thinking no snow and ice on the roads with temperatures of 15 degrees or higher. - Jeff Boruvka
