Hi Ladies!

We have been tossing this idea around for a while, and are very excited to announce we have a date and location for our first Brickyard Spyder Ryders Ladies Retreat!

We have a cabin at Patoka 4 Seasons Resort Friday, Sept. 21 through Sunday, Sept. 23.  The cabin sleeps 8 (up to 10 with two air mattresses) and if we exceed that, we can reserve the adjoining cabin.  The final cost cannot be determined until we have a firm count, but it will likely be less than $65 per person (lodging) for the entire weekend.  We will then split the cost of food (breakfast, lunch, and snacks) in the cabin.  We will probably go out to dinner Friday and Saturday evening, and return home Sunday afternoon.

Weather permitting, this will be a Spyder Ryding event!  There are some great twisty roads in that area!  We will also have time to explore French Lick, West Baden, and Patoka Lake.  Bring games to play in the cabin as well :-) Once we make the reservation, we are locked into that weekend.  So if the weather is bad, we will drive down in cars and still have a great time!

We need to determine if we will need an extra cabin as soon as possible.  That being said, please RSVP yes or no as soon as possible, no later than Aug. 10.  We will then get a final count and will be able to determine the actual cost.

Here is the link to Patoka 4 Seasons, and we will be staying in Cabin 7A. I have stayed here twice and really like it!  http://www.patoka.com

Please let me know if you have any questions at all!  In an effort to avoid blowing up everyone's email box, please reply only to me, unless you have a question for the group.  I will send an update of RSVPs in a week or so, and will exclude anyone who has said they are not able to join us.

Saturday, August 11 - Jeff will lead to Auburn IN for touring the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum and the adjacent National Automotive and Truck Museum.

This will be an all-day ride.  It’s about 125 miles from McCordsville/Fishers area to Auburn.  So about 2.5+ hours with a rest/refuel stop.  If you are into history and a car / truck buff, then you will certainly enjoy these museums.

The two museums share the same parking lot (1600 Wayne St., Auburn, IN  46706).

The entrance fees are $12.50 per person to the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum and $10.00 per person to the National Auto and Truck Museum.

IF we could get a total of 12 people committed to this ride (drivers and passengers) by end of day this coming Friday (August 4th), I can try to get a group discount.

The Route:  straight up I69 to Auburn which is about 30 miles north of Ft. Wayne.

Departure Plans: (since people could be coming from various areas around the Indy area and the state, you can meet the group riding up from Indy in the museum parking lot - target time is 10:45)

First Departure Point5981 W Broadway, McCordsville, IN 46055 - 8:00 am on 8/11 in the CVS parking lot in McCordsville (corner of Mt.Comfort Rd aka 600 West aka Olio Road and Pendleton Pike aka Broadway aka Route 36)

Second Departure Point2649 Enterprise Dr, Anderson, IN 46013 - 8:30 am in the Skyline Chili parking lot at the intersection of I69 and Route 9 (aka Route 38).  This is last exit for Pendleton before getting to the next exit which is Anderson.  Note: The Skyline Chili parking lot is behind the northeast corner of the intersection).

Rest/Refuel Stop:  Approx. 9:30 at Love’s / McDonald’s gas station at I69 and Route 18  (about 60 miles into the journey)

Estimated Arrival Time at Museums:  10:45 AM - 11:00 AM

I envision people touring the museums at their own pace. So anyone can head back home at any time they want.  For a group ride back to Indy, I am thinking of a target departure time of 2:30’ish.  We can decide how we feel.  If we want to take the interstate I69 back which would be the fastest, or take back roads noodling through small towns (which will be more time consuming).
