Tour Of Honor - April 1-October 31, 2018

Tour of Honor is a great reason to hit the open road, honor our nation's heroes, and contribute to a few good charities. The event is a season-long, self-directed ride to memorials and monuments around the continental U.S., Alaska and Hawaii. Beginning April 1, visit as many sites as you want, with any route you choose. Finishers Certificates are awarded to those who visit any seven sites.

According to rider preference, $20 from each paid registration will go to Fisher House FoundationOperation Comfort Warriors, or Police and Fire: The Fallen Heroes. All profits after expenses will be divided equally between the three charities.

How about another challenge on your Tour of Honor ride? Now, someone can be #1 without riding 80,000 miles! Riders Kyle Conley, Glenn Copeland, Mark Kratz, Alex Schmidt, and Brian Thorn are sponsoring the 2018 TOH Fundraising Challenge Award, and if you saw the wall hanging they provided for last year’s banquet, you know that something similar will be worth the extra effort. Plus, there’s the reward of adding to the coffers of our three charities.

The beautiful 17” wall hanging CNC’ed by Sparks Metalcrafters of Sparks, Nevada, is made from airbrushed aluminum and powder coated steel. If you want to see a photo of it, check it out on the Facebook group page. https://www.facebook.com/groups/130290830851907/

Here’s how it goes. The top fundraiser wins this handsome award by raising the most money for their chosen charity: Fisher House Foundation, Operation Comfort Warriors, or Police & Fire: The Fallen Heroes. The fundraising efforts starts NOW and will end September 1.

How to raise the funds? It’s up to you: a GoFundMe page, pledges for miles ridden or sites visited, motorcycle dealers, your own money, passenger rides, bake sales, the mind reels. Just get the verification of donated funds to us by midnight, September 14.

Donations can be verified three different ways:
1) Send funds to the Tour of Honor PayPal account charity@tourofhonor.com (send “personal” so fees won’t be deducted). Include your name and your charity with any payment.
2) Send checks made out to your charity and mailed to the Tour of Honor address below by September 1.
3) Send checks directly to addresses below and email us copies of letters from them (we must receive verification by September 14, so plan accordingly).

We’ll post contributions on a monthly basis as we receive them, and the Award will be available for pick up at the Ride To Meet on September 15, or mailed to the winner.

Thank you, Brian Thorn, for this terrific idea!

Good luck,
Your friendly TOH Crew
