With 2.5 million LED lights, the annual Space Coast Lightfest, a tradition for many families in Brevard County, is bound to be one of the brightest places to light up your holiday season. In a literal sense, whether you drive, run or stroll, the colorful lights and whimsical Floridian themes will amuse adults and youngsters alike, particularly when they finish in the 200-foot-long lighted tunnel. But, in a figurative sense, proceeds from the $10 or $15 donation goes to the Boy Scouts of America and the toys and canned food collected (for discounted entry) will make the season brighter for children across the county. What could be a better way to start the holiday season?

When: Hours are 6:30 to 10 p.m. daily Nov. 17-Jan. 1.

Where: Wickham Park, 2500 Parkway Drive, Melbourne

Cost: Admission is $10 per car on weeknights, $15 per car on weekends and holidays. It's $20 for a 15-passenger van Monday through Thursday, $25 on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. It's $40 per bus Monday through Thursday and $50 per bus Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Hay rides cost $5 per person, $20 per family and free for kids younger than 2. Stroll through the lights, which is Dec. 6, cost $5 per person, $20 per family and free for kids younger than 2. Save $2 by donating a new unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots at the gate.
