USAflag05Parade Video

The Spyder Ryders of America are registered for the Melbourne 4th of July Parade.  ALL are invited - Central Fl, C2C & any independent Spyders out there.  Thanks for signing up – we currently have 21 Spyders listed in the parade.  Please decorate your bikes as much as possible with the Red, White and Blues.  I would like Mike Savastano to lead our group with his Flag Spyder and follow with 2 side by side if we’re not too wide per their restrictions.  If we are – then we’ll stagger ryde the Spyders.  Parade participants are NOT allowed to throw any items to the spectators such as candy, gifts, promotional items, etc. from your vehicles or parade units.  You are allowed to hand out items to folks, but NOT throw anything.  Also, please follow any directions of the Melbourne Police Dept. as they control the flow of the parade.

We will be assigned a parade spot large enough for 20 to 30 Spyders along Melbourne Ave near the train overpass and Manatee Park.  A good GPS address for that location is 950 East Melbourne Avenue Melbourne, FL 32901.  We can start lining up as early as 8:30 AM, however you should be okay if you get there by 9:30 AM at the latest.  The route takes us through Historic Downtown Melbourne on New Haven Avenue and we turn right on Oak Street, ending at the Liberty Bell Memorial Museum.

We will then ryde to Fia's Ristorante & Pizzaria (4980 N. Wickham Road, Melbourne 32940) for lunch.

Thanks again for signing up and I look forward to seeing everyone there! - Fred R

TampaBay Powersports (13521 N Florida Ave, Tampa, FL 33613)  is having a promotional event for Spyder Ryders. They will be serving food and beverages and there will be drawings for Can Am Merchandise. The event kicks off at 11:00 AM. There will be 2 meeting points. For the northern and central area ryders, we will meet at the Cracker Barrel at the intersection of I-4 And Rt. 27 at 8:30 AM. For the southeastern ryders, we will meet at the intersection of Rt.60 and Rt 27 at 9:30 AM. There is a large strip mall parking lot which has a Sav-Alot just before an Ihop on Rt.60. We will then continue on Rt. 60 to I-75 into Tampa. Hope to see everyone!      I think it is so important that we recognize when another superior dealer comes on the scene to support the Spyder community. We arrive at Tampa Bay PowerSports they have cleared a parking area toward the rear of the property to leave the area around the tent clear. Please park in prescribed area and then sign up and get your raffle ticket for the drawings.

ProjectRoadWarrior Wanted to send a note about a charity ride BRP is supporting involving wounded veterans.  It is called Project Road Warrior.  BRP has donated several Spyders for the cause, which will see veterans ride from Seattle to Tampa Bay from June 5 to 14.  It is a great cause, and it is something I have been pushing for several years here at BRP so I am excited to see it happen.  Just thought I would send the details so you could share it with your membership as I am sure there would be interest to hook up and ride with the participants at some of the stops -- in fact, that is encouraged. There is also a donation page if people want to support it. This is the first year for the event, and I do hope it is not the last.  Here is what I ask, however... if any individuals or groups plan on riding a section, they must get in contact with Craig -- he is one of the main organizers. His e-mail is: craig@projectroadwarrior.org.  The reason being is they need to know if they will need traffic control along the route if a ton of people are going to show up that day. I would like to know as well, but it is essential that Craig is notified.  So, feel free to spread the word. It is a great cause and I am proud that BRP is supporting it. Hope all is well, contact me with any questions you may have. I have attached a pretty comprehensive overview, too.  - Can-Am BRP

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SRA CF is planning to support this BRP sponsored event by ryding with the "enabled ryders" and their Spyders on the final leg of their trip from Seattle to Tampa.

We will ryde with them from 4760 Salisbury Road, Jacksonville Marriott, Jacksonville, Florida west to 301 and then south to Tampa/Clearwater (Barney's and the Quaker Steak & Lube).

Central Florida ryders will meet at usual I4 rest stop eastbound past exit 94 at 6:30am.  We will pick up Atlantic Coast ryders at RaceWay gas station on Speedway Blvd (92) just off I95 at 7:15am and plan to be at the ride site at 9am.  The ryde to Tampa begins at 9:30am.

The full round trip of this ryde home to home would be in the range of 450 to 550 miles for the day so it is conceivable that some ryders may wish to ride to Jacksonville the night before or stay in the area of Quaker Steak & Lube in Clearwater after the welcome home party, before returning the next day.  Those of us staying overnight near Quaker Steak are staying at Country Inn & Suites 8050 U S 19 N, Pinellas Park, Fl only two miles from the event party.

We will provide more details as they are released.   Please let us know if you are attending and where you will meet us.

Spence: "Our main group is going up early Saturday morning to join the Project Road Warrior group for the ride to Tampa, however if some of you can get away on Friday, then you may want to consider meeting with the NE C2C folks as follows: The Road Warrior Project at the Veterans Memorial Wall Jacksonville Fl @4:30 pm June 13. The Veterans Memorial Wall is located at 1145 East Adams Street Jacksonville, Fl. We will meet with the Mayor and dignitaries of the City for a brief ceremony. Then we will head to the coast for dinner, that location has not been determined yet, i will have that info shortly. NE C2C will be scheduling a Breakfast at Jaxpowersports Saturday Morning June 14 @ 7:45am and then Launch our Journey to Tampa from there at 9:30am."
