The Drayton Island Ferry is an auto ferry that crosses the St. Johns River in Putnam County, Florida, connecting Georgetown on the eastern bank with Drayton Island, located in the middle of the river at the north end of Lake George. It provides the only public access to the island.

The ferry is currently operated by Putnam County, Florida; capable of transporting two vehicles per trip, there is a $10 toll for passage to the privately owned island. The ferry, which consists of a tugboat and barge combination, is located near daymarker No. 70 on the river. It nominally runs three times daily; however, the schedule is considered flexible.

2013 Owners Event (Link) Maggie Valley, NC Date: Thursday, June 13, 2013

Riding In The Great Smoky Mountains (Link)

Lamonster BBQ Saturday June 15th 2013

  • Location: 2309 Old Kentucky Road West Mosheim, TN 37818
  • Time: Anytime is fine, we'll be at it first thing in the morning but we plan to eat around 2pm. You're welcome to come early and stay late.
  • Cost: Every year we pay for this by donations from people and vendors. Last year it came out right to the dollar and that was pretty cool. It doesn't matter anyway because this is my way of saying thanks to you all for making this a great site.

"I think this is the forth year we'll be doing this for SpyderLovers and it keeps getting better every year. This will be tied in with the Spyder Owners Event that's held in Maggie Valley again this year. The Owners event is June 13-14 (Thursday/Friday) and the BBQ will be at my place on Saturday the 15th. It's about 70 miles from Maggie Valley.

It's a great time to just hangout and get to know some like minded folks. I'm expecting 300 to 400 Spyders in the front yard but I really need you to post on this thread to make sure I have enough food for you all. Let me know if it's just you or you're bringing someone with you so I can get a good count".     Thanks, Lamonster

GROUP 1 (RL Geiger) The SRA CFL North Florida group will be meeting at the Cracker Barrel in Lake City Wednesday June 12 with the planned departure of 8:45am.  I can be contacted on my cell at 863-873-7002. - RL

Based on what I know (which isn't much) we should depart from Lake City at 8:45am on Wednesday heading North and plan to stop for the night in Clayton GA. where we can stay at the Days Inn.    Dillard House for dinner---family style.  Thursday Depart 7am and ryde East on Warwoman Rd to Moonshiner 28 to Highlands and then onto Franklin.  fuel stop and then 64 to Cherokee and Maggie Valley.  Staying at the Microtel nights.  Friday we can check the BRP event schedule and make sure we are registered for any give aways, then ryde a loop where we will ryde the Tail of the Dragon, stop in Pigeon Forge for lunch and then return to Maggie Valley in time for any BRP festivities.  Saturday If there is a BBQ at Lamonts we can ryde there and depart early enough to get some miles behind us before we decide on a stopping point.  Sunday continue heading South toward Home and arrive late afternoon.  I will refine this as I get feedback.  C-YA RL

Sunday, May the 19th, we will lead a group ride from Big Tree Park (761 General Hutchinson Pkwy, Longwood) to Fantasy of Flight (1400 Broadway Blvd. S.E. Polk City, FL. 33868) with feet up at 0900. The ride length is 78 miles so start with a full tank. Big Tree opens at 0800 and the walk back to the Senator and Lady Liberty is only a couple hundred yards if you decide to be early and take a stroll. Restrooms are available.

We will eat at the end in the Compass Rose Diner at FOF and then either tour the attraction, hang around for the flight demonstration at 1:00pm, or head home. Gas is nearby.

This is a  medium paced ride and good for beginners and the experienced alike. Much of the ride is through farm and light residential county in Orange and Lake counties.

Hope to see you there.
