Meet up at 8:00 am at the Circle K 14990 W Colonial Drive, Winter Garden, FL. 34747  Depart at 8:30 am.

Ocala National Forest is the second largest nationally protected forest in the State of Florida. It covers 607 sq miles or 387,000 acres of Central Florida. The forest is home to the state’s largest populations of Florida Black bears and scrub jays.

Our route will take us through Minneola, Ocala with a break in Hawthorne then continuing through Salt Springs to our lunch spot in Astor. Lunch will be at Drifters Riverfront Bar & Grill. After lunch we will head through the National Forest on Route 40 and then back towards our starting point in Winter Garden. Our return route has us stopping near Ocala for fuel and to stretch those legs before we continue south to our starting point in Winter Garden. The total number of miles for the day is 261 miles – with an estimate return time around 4:30 pm. This route is sparsely populated, and you can experience the tranquil countryside at a leisurely pace while taking in both the solitude and the views.

Meet up at 8:00 am at the Wawa 2499 N. Orange Blossom Trail, Kissimmee, FL Depart at 8:30 am.

Come enjoy the day as we travel to Madeira Beach which will take us just over 3 hours to travel 118 miles across secondary roads. We have a break at the midpoint where you can stretch your legs and grab a snack. We should be arriving around noon and grabbing some lunch at Scully’s on the boardwalk. There is a fee for parking – approx. $4/hr

Created by a hurricane back in 1948 a pirate, John Levique, made the first passage through the newly created pass. Hence the name, Johns Pass.  There are over 100 shops and restaurants along the waterfront boardwalk. It is very common to see dolphins playing in the pass so get your cameras ready!

If you would like to learn more about what John’s Pass has to offer, they do have a website you can visit at https://johnspass.com/.
